Who NextGen Healthcare is best for
NextGen Healthcare makes EHR and practice management software for outpatient practices and owns Mirth Connect, an HL7 integration engine. The company was taken private by Thoma Bravo in a $1.8 billion deal completed in November 2023. It says it supports more than 10,000 medical groups across 40+ specialty markets and serves 300+ FQHCs and community health centers.
Best for
- Independent practices under 10 providers that want cloud EHR, PM and billing (NextGen Office)
- Multi-specialty and specialty groups of 10+ providers that need configurable templates (NextGen Enterprise)
- FQHCs and community health centers with population health and quality reporting needs
Not ideal for
- Buyers who want published, self-serve pricing
- Very small practices that only need a lightweight charting tool
- Hospitals looking for an inpatient EHR
