Who RXNT eRx is best for
RXNT is a Maryland software company whose first product, launched in 2001, was electronic prescribing. Its eRx application is still sold on its own, so a prescriber can send prescriptions, including controlled substances, without an EHR. The same application sits inside RXNT's EHR and Full Suite bundles.
Best for
- Solo prescribers who need standalone eRx with EPCS
- Practices whose current EHR has weak prescribing and that accept a separate eRx login
- Small practices that may later move to RXNT's EHR or billing bundles
Not ideal for
- Software companies that need an embeddable eRx API
- Practices that want month-to-month billing for e-prescribing
RXNT eRx pros and cons
Pros
- DEA-certified EPCS for Schedule II to V drugs, with ID proofing and biometric two-factor authentication
- PDMP data from Bamboo Health in the workflow, with no separate PDMP login
- Surescripts-certified routing to retail and mail-order pharmacies, refill requests, and automatic drug interaction and allergy checks
- Setup, training, data transfer, U.S.-based support, upgrades and iOS and Android apps included
- Shares one database with RXNT's EHR, scheduling and billing if you expand
Cons
- RXNT's pricing page does not show the e-prescribing price
- Standalone eRx is sold only as a yearly subscription
- EPCS costs an extra $85 per user per year
- No published API or third-party EHR integration list
RXNT eRx pricing
As of October 2026, RXNT's pricing page lists an E-Prescribing plan without a dollar amount. It states that standalone e-prescribing is yearly only and that an $85 annual fee applies to each user who prescribes controlled substances. Ask RXNT for the per-prescriber annual price in writing. Onboarding (30 days for e-prescribing), training, initial demographic and insurance data imports and support are included. Non-prescribing staff licenses cost extra and are quoted.
Key features
- E-Prescribing: prescriptions and renewals via Surescripts, automated refill notices, drug interaction and allergy checks
- EPCS: Schedule II to V prescribing that RXNT says meets federal and state mandates
- PDMP integration: state monitoring data through Bamboo Health (formerly Appriss Health)
- Mobile apps: iOS and Android apps for prescribing on the go
- Upgrade path: EHR, Practice Management and Full Suite bundles add charting, a patient portal, scheduling and billing
HIPAA, security and integrations
RXNT states that it complies with all HIPAA requirements and hosts its applications and data in SOC 2 Type II certified data centers, with Azure Cloud Defender for threat detection. Its customer agreement (last updated May 15, 2026) lists a Business Associate Agreement as Attachment D and says PHI is processed under it. RXNT says its software is ONC-HIT certified by Drummond, with its EHR holding 2015 Edition certification, and Surescripts certified. Within RXNT, eRx shares one database with the EHR and billing products; RXNT does not publish an API for connecting it to other EHRs.
