MetricStream sells Connected GRC, a cloud platform that brings risk, compliance, internal audit, cyber and third-party risk programs into one system of record. Healthcare is one of several regulated industries it targets, alongside banking, insurance and energy. For a small practice that needs a HIPAA risk assessment and policies, it is far more than required.

MetricStream positions its software as a tool for organizations to meet HIPAA requirements; its HIPAA page does not state that MetricStream itself signs a BAA. Its Trust Center says independent third-party assessors perform annual security audits and that compliance reports can be requested, but it does not list specific attestations such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 on the page. The platform runs on a multi-instance global cloud. MetricStream lists Integration (APIs) and Marketplace as platform components, but does not publish EHR integrations, so ask how incident, access and vendor data will be fed in.
