Who pMD is best for
pMD started as a mobile charge capture tool for physicians in the Palm Pilot era and has grown into a set of software and services: pCharge for rounding and charge capture, pChat for HIPAA-compliant messaging and video visits, pRevenue for outsourced billing, and pSuite for support. It fits groups whose providers work across hospitals and facilities.
Best for
- Hospitalist, nephrology, cardiology, oncology and other groups that round in hospitals or facilities
- Practices losing revenue to late or missed charges from inpatient and facility visits
- Groups that want billing outsourced but still want a mobile charge capture app their providers like
Not ideal for
- Practices looking for a full EHR with charting, e-prescribing and a patient portal in one product
- Buyers who need published billing prices before talking to sales
pMD pros and cons
Pros
- pCharge captures charges on iOS, Android or desktop and keeps working when the phone is offline
- Reporting covers charge volume, RVUs, APP productivity and monthly dialysis (MCP) visits
- Built-in transitional care management and the ability to bill scheduled appointments
- pChat has published pricing: $10 per user per month, no setup fee or long-term contract
- pMD says its 24/7 support is in-house, not outsourced, and it completes annual SOC 2 Type II audits
Cons
- No EHR; it works alongside your existing systems
- Pricing for pCharge and pRevenue is not published
- Few independent reviews of the billing service; most published feedback, including pMD's own testimonials, is about the mobile app rather than RCM results
- The pRevenue page does not detail coding, credentialing or patient statement services, so confirm scope in the contract
pMD pricing
As of 2026, pMD publishes a price only for pChat: $10 per user per month, with patient contacts included, no setup fees and no long-term contract. pCharge and pRevenue are quote-only. Ask whether billing is priced as a percentage of collections or per provider, and whether charge capture is priced separately when you use pRevenue.
Key features
- pCharge: mobile rounding lists and charge capture, with Instant Capture for two-tap charge entry, coding prompts, claim scrubbing and productivity reports
- pChat: secure texting, voice notes, photo sharing, group chats, hand-off messages, discharge alerts and HD video visits
- pRevenue: full-service medical billing covering claims, denials and billing workflow
- pSuite: implementation, training, account management and 24/7 live support
- pMD for Patients: a patient app for joining virtual visits and contacting the practice
HIPAA, security and integrations
pMD reports completing annual SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA Security audits (most recently announced in October 2026). It states that pChat is HIPAA compliant, that its terms of use include a business associate agreement, and that messages and calls are encrypted at rest and in transit. pMD does not publish a list of EHR integrations; its pSuite Premier support includes integration with your practice management software at no charge.
