Who XiFin is best for
XiFin focuses on diagnostic billing: high accession volumes, thin margins per test and missing information from ordering providers. Its platform, XiFin Empower RCM (successor to XiFin RPM), serves independent and reference labs, molecular diagnostics, pathology practices, toxicology labs and hospital outreach programs. XiFin also serves radiology groups and retail pharmacies.
Best for
- Independent clinical, reference and molecular labs billing large claim volumes
- Pathology practices that want RCM and an anatomic pathology LIS from one vendor
- Diagnostic organizations that want the option to outsource billing to the vendor
- Labs that need detailed payer, test-level and financial reporting
Not ideal for
- Primary care or specialty physician practices looking for a practice management system
- Small practices that want published, per-provider pricing
XiFin pros and cons
Pros
- Built specifically for diagnostic billing, including front-end clean claim automation and error correction
- Configurable denial and appeal workflows, with documents attached to claims
- Option to run billing in-house, outsource it to XiFin, or combine both and switch later
- BI data model the vendor describes as GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliant
- RCM platform holds HITRUST r2 certification, renewed in 2024
- Client and patient portals to collect missing information
Cons
- No public pricing; contracts are negotiated
- Enterprise implementation, not a quick start
- Little value outside diagnostic billing
- Product renaming (RPM to Empower) can make older documentation confusing
XiFin pricing
XiFin does not publish prices for Empower RCM, its LIS or outsourced billing; all are quoted. Cost typically depends on claim or accession volume, modules and connectivity. Ask for implementation, interface and data conversion fees, minimum terms and how pricing changes if you move between in-house and outsourced models.

In November 2025 it announced HITRUST i1 certification for its pharmacy clinical documentation, messaging and claims systems, which are hosted on Microsoft Azure. XiFin says it can connect with most EHR and practice management systems through APIs and managed connectivity services. The LIS integrates with digital pathology platforms.
